Description

The Brazilian Rose Wood, also known as Jacaranda Mimosifolia, is a small to medium-sized tree that is native to South America. It is a deciduous tree that can grow up to 20 meters in height, but the cultivated varieties are usually smaller, ranging from 1 to 3 meters in height. The tree has a spreading, open canopy with a rounded shape and a smooth, grayish-brown bark. The leaves of the Brazilian Rose Wood are compound, with 5 to 18 leaflets that are oblong in shape and up to 5 cm long. The leaves are a bright green color and turn yellow before falling off in the autumn. The tree produces large clusters of trumpet-shaped, lavender-blue flowers that are up to 5 cm long. The flowers bloom in the spring and summer and are followed by long, slender seed pods that can reach up to 30 cm in length. The Brazilian Rose Wood is a popular ornamental tree due to its attractive appearance.
