Description:
This dense, rounded, evergreen native tree growsslowly to a height of 25 feet with an equal spread andcan develop a trunk 12 inches thick. Thelarge, seven-inch-long, stiff, dark green leaves arerough and hairy, feeling much like sandpaper.Appearing throughout the year, but especially in springand summer, are dark orange, two-inch-wide flowerswhich appear in clusters at branch tips. The splendidflowers are followed by one to two-inch-long, pearshapedfruits, which have a pleasant fragrance but arenot particularly tasty.
