Euphorbia Milii, commonly known as Crown of Thorns, is a slow-growing, succulent shrub native to Madagascar. Its most notable feature is the clusters of small, bright red, yellow, or pink bracts that resemble flowers. The plant’s long, spiky stems and small, oval leaves make it an attractive addition to any succulent collection.
Plant Care:
- Light: Crown of Thorns requires bright, direct light for best flowering and growth. It can tolerate some shade, but too much shade can cause the plant to become leggy and produce fewer flowers.
- Water: This plant is drought-tolerant and should be watered only when the soil is completely dry. Over-watering can cause root rot and kill the plant.
- Soil: Euphorbia Milii prefers well-draining, porous soil that is slightly alkaline. It can also tolerate poor, rocky soil.
- Hardiness: This plant is hardy in USDA zones 9-11, where it can be grown outdoors year-round. In cooler climates, it can be grown as a houseplant or in a greenhouse or conservatory.
